Virtual Professional Development Webinar Series

WVLPCA is proud to roll-out a professional development webinar series.  Each quarter, WVLPCA will sponsor a virtual presentation by national experts in the counseling field.  The virtual platform allows participants to attend with little disruption to their normal work schedule.  

The WVLPCA board is excited to offer all presentations and associated CEUs FREE to members!  This is just one more way WVLPCA can support our members continued growth and development.  Non-members are welcome to attend for a small fee (or join the WVLPCA to take advantage of the free training)!

Treating Veterans in 2026- the updated Rules of Engagement
Friday, Nov 20th  1:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern)

This 90-minute webinar will discuss the current mental health climate for Veterans and
Active-Duty personnel. Over 25 years of almost constant conflict has created a cross-
generational population that has been exposed to terrorism, combat, deployments, and
all of the related stressors that accompany those events. In addition to PTS, SUDs,
depression, anxiety, and service-related sexual abuse, we will discuss the variations in
coping skills of that cross generational population – from Millennials to Gen X to Gen Y
to Gen Z as each population potentially has their own nuances which may affect
engagement and treatment. The course will also touch on the “reentry” syndrome and
“reentry conflict” of transitioning from Active-Duty to civilian life in today’s world.
